How It All Started With a Comic Book
By G. Edwin Taylor
Back when I was younger, I was a huge comic book fan. At one point I had my bedroom walls covered in posters of all the super-heroes that I felt an affinity for. Eventually these were replaced with posters of horror movie villains and monsters with a few movie posters as well. I still remember vividly one movie poster of THE RIPPER starring legendary FX Artist Tom Savini. That one always stayed with me because the eyes seemed to glow at night and keep me company when I wasn’t tired.
I never really forgot how those posters kept me happy from all the hours spent looking at them on my wall. I guess it’s only natural that I now create art and offer them as posters on my website, www.taylor9.com
www.taylor9.com . Giving others a chance to feel what I felt back when I was a kid. I’m sure you remember that feeling too. Those posters made my room come alive and gave it breath. That room was me through and through. My individuality shone through with my selection. There was no mistake of who I was when you saw that. That room screamed my name to the very rooftops across Chicago.
That’s what I’m offering nowadays. Just think, a chance for your individuality to scream through on your walls, making you feel more at home, while keeping everything affordable. Since my art is Fine Art, it also adds integrity.
I decided to test out a poster printing company that I had found and had a special three by three and a half foot poster made as a test print of one of my paintings. I wanted to check the printing quality and see if the scanned resolution would hold up at a much-larger-than-original-size print.
I was astonished by how professional it looked. Superior quality and suitable for framing all, at a price that anyone could afford. I decided to surprise a friend of mine with it by giving it to him as a going away present. A one of a kind gargantuan sized poster of his favorite painting. He STILL talks about the quality of it.
Not too long after I gave that poster to him, I posted on my Facebook profile, “I’ll be offering multiple sizes of the posters!”
“And what fantastic posters they are!” he replied.
“I’m not offering the size that I gave you Sir. That one is ultra-limited.” I typed back. There was no way that I would offer that to people. That was his and his alone.
“But the quality… the QUALITY!”
“The quality IS great isn’t it?”
“QUAAAAAALITYYYYYYY! <<shaking fist>>” was his final reply on that post. I couldn’t stop laughing.
It was obvious that he was beyond happy with that poster. That was when I knew that my decision was the right one. I immediately began work on www.taylor9.com
www.taylor9.com and opened up the Shoppe page. I knew that ease of ordering and security would be a vital concern to everyone like you, so I set everything up with Paypal so that anyone with a credit card could order one right away.
The rest of the story, as they say, is to be written in the present and future.
